I love Ohio University not only because it's a fantastic school, but because I grew up with it. As a child, my mother pursued her education at Ohio University. While attending her beloved Ohio University, she would often times come home with stories of what she was learning, and as many college students do, great amounts of work to do. My mother was so driven and hard working that she never skipped a beat. It was at this time that I discovered my own drive to succeed and learn, and what better place to do it than where my mother had found her own passion for knowledge, Ohio University. It wasn't until my older sister who attends there now, that I was once more inspired to learn as I heard her talk with such enthusiasm about her classes and material. Soon after my sister began attending OU, I told myself that I would never waste another day in school again, and I did not. I went through high school worked hard, got involved, and made education my number one priority. Later, I found my greatest passion and decided to make it my career: Psychiatry. At Ohio University, I will follow my greatest passion of learning and while doing so, will be on a path that also allows me to follow my other passion of psychiatry. All the opportunities that OHIO has given my mother and my sister amaze me and I cannot wait to see what opportunities being a student at Ohio University will grant me. Being an Ohio University Legacy is important to me for one reason, it gave my mother the desire to work hard and learn which in turn gave me my own desire and passion to seek knowledge.
