Why should children have to take P.E. classes and what are the benefits of these classes? The debate whether or not children should be required to take physical education courses is a debate that has lingered for a long time, and up to this day, it continues to do so. Generally speaking, there are some children that may not run as fast or might not be as strong, or might not be naturally athletic and these students can become embarrassed however it is imperative that the teacher who is credentialed in this field make the environment fun and work for all different students. Students should be required to take physical education courses because physical education does teach students how to take care of themselves, and promotes healthy social interactions. In most states, children ages 10 and older are usually required to take these physical education courses because as they start to get older, students bodies begin to change as they are growing. Similarly, It is important for these students to persevere because they got the biggest support at school which is their teacher for P.E and all they want is the best for them and give them also a healthier lifestyle by participating in the activities done every day. “According to the Mayo Clinic, physical education also provides an excellent source for stress relief, something that many students from all over the world can use (Health of P.E).” This evidence emphasizes that students do not overcome this obstacle of either running more or running less alone.
