I am applying for the Women Aerospace Foundation Scholarship and I’m currently a junior in Mechanical and Aerospacial Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington where I am involved in various organizations. I am a full-time student who has completed three academic years and a Hispanic female citizen. I hold a concrete belief that I am an excellent candidate for the Women in Aerospace Foundation Scholarship (WAF) where I hold the essential requirements needed to apply for this opportunity, but also excel the given requirements by being a designer/researcher, demonstrating technical analysis, and holding academic achievement. I have shown an interest in this said field when I was younger and I became involved in NASA in the use of the NCAS (NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars) program. In that I showed an understanding of NASA’s impact in technology and findings by trying to do space exploration in the form of Mars. I had to design and built a rover that incorporates the given tasks that were assigned in a team. As one of the designer/researcher of the team we had to consult with multiple divisions in our team (i.e. programmer, budget manager) and make corrections in our rover.
