The ties between humans and animals has been highly significant. Humans have relied on animals for almost everything. We have used them for all types of food, a huge industry in clothing, and house pets. Though research has made it possible for scientists to use animals for testing, teaching in schools, labs, and medicine. Even despite the cost, inefficiency and harm to the animal being tested on.
The fact of the matter can be stated in the most simple words, animal testing doesn’t give sufficient information for human matters. According to Cruelty Free International, only 6% of the 4,300 international companies involved in drug development has registered a new drug with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration since 1950. That is just one common argument on why testing should be continued It’s easy to see how one may see that but putting it into perspective, no where does it state that humans are superior over animals. We as humans are the only ones to state that, but who or what should be the one to make that decision? Animals feel pain in the exact same way people do. They’ll scream and cry and saying they don’t and won’t feel that pain is inhumane. Peta stated, “A 2009 survey by researchers at Newcastle University found that mice and rats who underwent painful, invasive procedures, such as skull surgeries, burn experiments, and spinal surgeries, were provided with post-procedural pain relief only about 20 percent of the time.” They had also mentioned, “The experimenters’ real argument is “might makes right.” They believe it’s acceptable to harm animals because they are weaker, because they look different, and because their pain is less important than human pain. This is not only cruel but also unethical.” Why should we be able to test on these animals and not even provide them with something to help them not feel the pain that we’re
