Animal Testing

Makeup, shampoo, detergents, cleaning products and more are all things most of the population uses. But do we ever question about how our products were made or made out of? Most people don't. Unfortunately, many of our products in the United States are made from testing on animals. Animals ranging from mice all the way to dogs and monkeys are being tested on throughout the world in order to make and test our human products. Do you think it is wrong to test on innocent animals?

Although you could argue the benefits of animal testing, there are many negatives to it as well. One of these negatives include the animals who are kept in captivity for the experiments. 115 million animals worldwide are used for experimenting every year according to Humane …show more content…

Economically, animal testing is a large negative as well. An abundance of money has to go to testing on animals for many reasons. The animals themselves cost some money to bring in, not to mention things like food, shelter, and drugs to keep the animals healthy enough to endure these experiments. The United States alone spends $16 billion dollars on the testing of animals at the tax payer's expense according to PETA.org. So, not only are most of our favorite creatures being tortured, the torturing of these animals are paid by everyone through taxes.

Animals and humans are very different species from each other. Why would we experiment on animals who obviously share some differences from the human species? These animals are in small cages and are under a lot of stress from the trauma that is happening to them. The drugs that are being experimented on them might cause a different reaction just because the animal is under a lot of stress unlike an animal being in it's natural environment and not being provoked. Secondly, an animal's reaction to a drug could be very different to a human's reaction to a drug. The testing of animals is very
