Standardized Testing

Do you think students should be tested so much? Students are tested from grade three all the way up to their senior year of High School. Their test are mostly about Reading and Math. Testing so much should be illegal.Standardized Testing should be limited because students become overwhelmed, are robbed of their childhood and has not achieved anything from No Child Left Behind (NCLB) which was passed in 2002. 1.Students are becoming overwhelmed with test test that their teachers have been giving them. The school board should slow down on making test for students. Mississippi third graders are tested to see if they can read. Mississippi third graders are tested once to see if they can read. If they fail the first time they have two more chances to pass. If they fail all of them they cannot continue to the fourth grade. Schools robbing students of their childhood. There is more violence, a higher rate of illness, parental neglect, because of all the stress and tension in families. Today, there is more trouble for children and less time for innocence then before. “When I was in school, we only had to take a couple of test that had multiple lessons in them. Not Multiple Test in one grading period.” (Mom) It’s not the kids fault that the schools have changed some much from before. Everywhere you look, kids today are being forced to grow up faster. It skyrocketed after 2002s No Child Left Behind Act. NCLB mandated annual testing in all 50 states.
