At Brown University, I want to take full advantage of the Business, Entrepreneurship and Organizations (BEO) program, exploring how it gives students the opportunity to approach an organization through three major concepts: economically, sociologically, and technologically.
By combining the sociological approach from the BEO curriculum with courses in Gender Studies, I'll be able to tackle one of the world’s most concerning issues in large organizations: the lack of minority groups such as women, the LGBT community, people of color and indigenous individuals in leadership positions. With the support of the Pembroke Center, for instance, I'll be able to boost the Vice Versa, a new not-for-profit organization founded by a Schwarzmann Scholar and I. Vice Versa aims to shape organizational cultures to openly attract more gender and race diversity within higher levels of a business’ hierarchy; deconstructing such cultural problem by its roots, and therefore, avoiding the return of this issue in its original form. …show more content…

Thus, I'll be able to gain expertise on major topics, such as Internet of Things, and develop this concept in my own startup, Binee. Furthermore, it's my great interest to pursue knowledge within the Political Science area along with Education classes such as Policy Implementation in Education and Academic Freedom on Trial in order to better understand the flaws of Education Systems around the world. Such classes will provide me the tools to later on develop well-thought solutions to address issues such as the lack of academic freedom as well as the poor-quality of teachers’ pedagogical skills in many regions of
