It is a teacher’s goal for every student to be successful. To reach this goal, teachers need to monitor students’ learning, stay consistent, reward hard work, and redirect behavior problems. All of these attributes help teachers manage students and promote learning within their classrooms.
Monitoring students’ learning helps teachers understand and determine students’ strength and weaknesses. It can also help improve teachers’ instruction. As an educator, being able to identify students’ needs is the most effective way to help students become successful. There are multiple ways to monitor students learning. Students know what to expect every day when they enter the classroom. They also know the standards you hold them to. In my future classroom, to the best of my ability to remain constant with my students. I want students to feel comfortable, valued, and important.
To remain consistent in my classroom, I will respect our classroom procedures and follow through with my classroom management plan. I will hold students accountable for their actions and learning within my classroom by conferencing with them and setting personal goals. Consistency will also be within my classroom, because I will hold all students to the same high behavioral expectations; along with high expectations to meet academic goals. Together has a class, we will create an anti-bullying pledge at the beginning of the year. Through the year, we will also discuss appropriate conflict resolutions, and promote a friendly and safe environment inside and outside of the classroom and school. If bullying does occur within my classroom or involve students in my classroom, I will talk to each student separately about the problem and gather facts about the situation. I will then separate the students, report the problem, and communicate with both parents respectively about the situation. If the bullying escalates, I will implement my school’s policy on bullying. If students feel unsafe in my classroom, learning cannot take place.
As a teacher there are other thing that need to be held in consideration for learning to take place. Teachers can create a safe environment, rules, and procedures but if they do not take the interests in students’ learning process, it my all fall apart. Teachers will face a variety of learning styles, learning disabilities, social-economic statues, and other special types of children every year. It is important that teachers always keep this in mind when promoting
