Young adolescents are going through numerous changes in their life that concerns their mental and physical health. Although they are experiencing a huge transition in their lives, males and females mature differently which may make them feel awkward about themselves. Girls tend to start puberty earlier than guys which starts with an adolescent growth spurts, function of the brain, bones, skin, and their reproductive organs mature until fully developed (Howell). It is vital for students to have a role model in their life, such as a teacher, to keep them motivated to stay on the right path, especially during this challenging time in the student’s lives. A deep understanding of the developmental variety of its students; attention to behaviors and characteristics of its teachers; creating a supportive organizational structure; and developing of healthy relationships among students, staff, teachers, and administration all help contribute to an effective learning environment for the children. To exude a challenging curriculum, teachers must set goals for students in the beginning of the year, and let the children individually set short and long term goals that are attainable, but will require work in order to reach them (Howell). Not only does this excite the children to learn, but they will be able to motivate themselves to work hard and strive to prosper. Technology has become vital in everyone’s lives, and this does not exclude the Middle schoolers. Integrating technology in the classroom provides new ways for the children to learn while staying on task. This allows for research to be done in the classroom, and can enable them to work on various projects that will ultimately benefit their education with supervision. Without it, the classroom would be chaotic and the students would not feel safe or cared for with the lack of attention in their environment. There is no way the students will care for learning when they are distracted by others or worried for their wellbeing. That is why teachers who provide structure and are organized offer a sense of security for all the children (Riha). They want to feel like home when they are in the classroom, and by making the classroom a nurturing environment for them to learn makes them feel comfortable to voice out their opinions and participate. Collaboration between middle school officials is vital in order to provide the best education for the students (Riha). Teaming with others can help teachers get a better understanding of the changes they need to make for their students, or things they are doing well. When we think of integrating a classroom, it is usually referred to technology. It is a viable tool to use for student’s studies and allows them to learn how to do research so that they will be prepared when they are in high school when writing papers. When teachers are prepared for the school year, and are eager to teach it shows. The positive behavior from the teacher can rub off on the students and get them excited to come into class to learn. In my field experience this semester, the children were excited to come to class and learn from my lessons
