Before 10th grade, I had an insufficiently rigorous course load to yield a competitive GPA. After taking the most rigorous classes for a year and boosting my GPA, I have decided to help my classmates tackle the competition at my school by helping them organize their schedules and classes for future academic years. I have reached out to these classmates through class projects and tutoring sessions. So far, I have helped about five teenagers become competitive. I have also frequently volunteered at a local food pantry.
When it comes to being a dietitian it is important to be able to put oneself in the shoes of the patient and be able to work with them
Poe’s relation to The Cask of Amontillado The story “The Cask of Amontillado” is a short story full of revenge, hatred and ultimately death. Many believe that this story is made entirely from Poe’s imagination. In reality, Poe used events that occurred in his own life to write the majority of the plot in this story. Poe based most of the story off of his alcohol addiction, his family’s deaths from tuberculosis, and the dark and often macabre times that he had experienced in his life.
The Pastors there to help with those who wants help in a spiritual way. He will be there to pray for you and your family who are already dealing with the disease. This is a very important part in my program planning because African Americans are very religious. They believe health is gift from God. Most think that illness is a result from not being obedient to God or may determined by fate.
I decided I wanted to be more behind the scenes and help others without them even realizing it. I don't want the recognition just the ability to make a difference. Throughout my undergrad career as a pre-med student, I was a certified nursing assistant working in a nursing home and it was so fulfilling for me to be able to these people get through their daily tasks that used to be so easy for them to accomplish. After that position came to an end I knew I still wanted to work in the field but maybe in a different way. I then volunteered in a medical/research lab during my undergrad career and earned my certification as a Certified Laboratory Assistant.
I was inspired of how a nurse, doctor, physician, therapist, nutritionist and so much more specialist can just help another person’s life by the knowledge they have encoded; to make a person feel happy without evening having a real bond with them. I have always been passionate about working in the medical field. When I finally hit my junior year in high school I’ve never been more interested in this field. I started taking courses directing me towards the medical field such as, medical terminology, chemistry and the nursing assistant class offered at East High School. I had set a life goal for me that I will follow to leave me to be a physician assistant.

My topic is about how the standard American diet can affect mental health. In the United States of America, the main diet is junk food consisting of sugar and processed foods. These kinds of food include sweets, chips, carbohydrates, red meat, and fried foods (Laura Dan, Aug 25, 2022). How does it affect people mentally? The mental health effects are depression, anxiety, and stress.
Growing up, I could never picture myself doing anything but becoming a doctor or a nurse. My grandmother was a nurse and as a child I would sit and listen to her stories about the touching and inspiring experiences she inquired with her patients, as well as the heartbreaking ones, and from then on I fell in love with the idea of a job in the medical field as my profession. It is one of my goals to use my skills to help people. Attending a physicians assistant program or nursing School will provide me the skills I need to achieve this goal. Several events have emerged in my life that I believe make me well suited for a job in the medical field.
In this assignment, we were asked to explain the profession on which we chose to enter after school, as well as, the education and skills needed to be able to succeed in finding a career. Then define our goals for our chosen career and 5-year plan. Though it may be the beginning of this journey and hard to see the end. I have pictured myself becoming a Nutritionist for a long time and have done the research on what is needed before applying to school. In the first units of this class I have been continuously asked what I have learned.
Next year at East Carolina University, I plan to major in Nutrition and Dietetics. After I complete four years at East Carolina University, I am required to complete an internship and once I finalized the requirements, I will become a registered dietitian. By becoming a registered dietitian, I am giving the opportunity to educate others on the importance of healthy and wholesome eating. I plan to find a job at a local hospital and during this time I am allowed to work for different companies to produce healthy food options, and also plan meals for customers. After I succeed with my first job and become an experienced dietician, I want to open my own practice and become self-employed.
A behavior that I struggle with and would like to change most is my unhealthy diet. When I looked back at my family medical history I learned that my grandfather died from a heart attack, and I don't want that to happen to me. I think it would help me lose weight and prevent me from getting heart disease if I stopped eating so much junk food. It is a challenge to eat healthy because usually the unhealthy food is cheaper and tastes better. I've tried to diet before
