Education is the most important part of a child's development. If we look closer at education, we can see that it is more than just the subjects being taught, it is also the connections the student makes across their life. Schools are the social development grounds for children to teenagers, fostering relationships one will probably never see again in their lifetime. These diverse communities are essential to a child's development, opening their eyes to lives outside their own will create a welcoming environment among students. Hult was my 8th-grade English teacher, and she was the first teacher who made me feel like I could do something with my life. She was personable, gave us fun seats, let us doodle, and engaged with the students' interests and ideas. She supported me and my writing and made me realize that, yes, I want to be a teacher. If I can have this amazing impact on someone, it will make it all worth it. I want to provide a safe space for students who are struggling, at home or at school. To make my classroom a place where a student can feel comfortable and express themselves however they feel fit. That's what Mrs. Hult did for me, and I can only hope that I can use her memory to do the same for others. I am still learning, but in my experiences as a camp counselor last year, I can confidently say that my positive attitude toward giving children a space where they can be authentically themselves is a success story. It was a good experience for what I hope my future holds. My goal is to ensure that education is both engaging and inclusive for everyone. If learning is fun and the student feels safe, I think schools will become a happy place for students once again. I used to dread school, but with my newfound confidence in making students' lives better than my own, I don't mind all the work I need to
