Obesity in America One of the biggest issues America faces today is Obesity. America is the midst of a health crisis when it comes to obesity. From what I have rea d, researched and learned about, it seems that America tops the list of the most obese country. People in America tend to overeat because of the poor food chain our country provides, the lack of exercise and diet we do, which also leads to health complications and social effects in a person’s life. The vast majority of the problem is sedentary life styles of Americans. The lack of education and personal responsibility that make people make the wrong choices in life. America is the target market for the most popular food chains. It is also known to have the worst food market and the cheapest unhealthy food. It is the cheapest because it takes more time to grow healthy stuff compared to mass produced ready to microwave meals. It is the person’s fault for becoming obese, unless they actually have a medical problem. Choosing to eat massive of food will lead to complications and diseases such as having high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol. All of these diseases mainly come from consuming amounts of food that are high in fat and sugar. Furthermore, obesity can have a social effect in a person’s life by affecting the person with having low self-esteem, being depressed, and being frustrated with one-self. Knowing the side effects of eating that much food, people should not have to consume large quantities of food on a regular basis.
