Understanding the Profession After reviewing the NASW Code of Ethics Core Values, a core value that I have demonstrated in the past is the value Integrity. Integrity is trustworthy and honest. I have demonstrated this core value many times throughout my life. One of the many businesses that exist globally and that I feel embodies ethical norms is 3M. This company produces thousands of goods for many different industries. These industries range from automotive, commercial solutions, communications, consumer, design & construction, electronics, energy, health care, manufacturing, mining oil & gas, safety, and transportation. Some of their consumer products that are aimed towards the final consumer can be found at a local superstore that sells a variety of goods. For example, if I am in need for sticky notes for school, I can easily go to a local Wal-Mart or Target and they should have them in their shelves. But I could also go to a local office supply store and they should carry 3M products that

The girl reports recurring nightmares of being knifed by a man. She’s scared of bugs, mice, snakes, worms, germs, and blood, and is terrified to give a speech in class that is required in a couple of weeks. She says she gets good grades; her parents demand it.
Unethical behavior is when one does not conform to a set of approved standards or professional behavior which are related to good manners and right conduct, and are seen by the society as being right or wrong. Whereas immoral behavior is not following accepted principles of right and wrong behavior, their behavior is either bad or wrong and are usually illegal. Creation of a personal ethical system can help in making decisions as you are most like to make decisions that are based on what the society feels is the right choice and being good decisions.

So my personal philosophy, at this point in time, is that since time on Earth is limited, one must make that short time meaningful and make the most of that time. This can be done by living life by a moral code, chasing one’s goals, as well as being aware of one’s own deficiencies. Living by a moral code requires that one defines that code.
