My definition of relationship-based approaches to serving families with infants and toddlers is building a trustworthy and healthy relationship. Not just with the parent and child, but those you work with as well. Building a trustworthy and healthy relationship- based approach provides families and those you work with a way to openly communicate with one another. Open communication open doors for collaboration between families and co-workers. Building a positive connection helps support families, families support their children, and support from the people you work with. The support allows you to reflect and examine your thoughts, experience, and feelings directly connected to the work.
