What are the instructional goals for this school, short-term and long-term?
The instructional goals align with most educational organization, as the Hemet Quest Academy strives to promote student learning in fashions that influence college and career readiness. Utilizing a project-based learning approach is one of the instructional goals embedded into the schools’ vision. This instructional approach influences both short-term and long-term goals, as lessons are catered towards each individual students’ interests. A five-day project-based program is implemented consistently, which incorporates a multi-model approach to learning. Students have access to instructional materials that are presented in kinesics, auditory, and visual formats.

The personalized learning model specifically addresses the interests of the child as well as meets the needs of the family. Dressler (2001), states charter schools are designed to close the gap between family and school communities. Student are exposed to core academic classes as well as enrichment courses, which can include drama and music. In addition, Hemet Quest Academy takes pride in the offering of monthly field trips that generate learning opportunities outside of the classroom. Program plans that foster a significant area of interest are developed upon enrollment. Each student is assigned to an Educational Specialist (ES) who will select and order the essential curriculum, which specifically meets the learning needs of the child. More specifically, students can elect to enroll into the math path program, which strives to build strong mathematical skills for both advance and struggle students. All Hemet Quest Academy students are exposed to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which are implemented throughout their individual program.
