First off, thank you so much for taking the time to consider me to work at the Jameson Camp. I am so excited to potentially work here for several reasons. First, I am extremely passionate about helping children and teenagers who may need a little extra help, whether that be to find their passions, or to help them just get through life in one piece, as life can be challenging on its own, but even more so when the odds seem to be against you. I believe that this passion is highlighted in the fact that I wish to be a school counselor after I am finished with schooling. I believe that experiences shape who you are as a person. They give you skills that can be useful later in life, and can even lead to you figuring out what you want to do with your life. I ranked Art Expressions first because I feel the most passionate about this area, and feel as if I have the proficiency to teach these kids about the arts in a way that will bring them joy and further knowledge about the arts. This is due to the fact that I wish to be a mentor and educator when all is said and done. I want to help kids, and I want to teach them skills to get them through their lives and be satisfied with them, and to find ways to cope with life’s toughest challenges. Also, if I am selected to be either a Recreation Counselor or Outdoor Education Counselor, I am looking forward to learning new skills, and dusting off and developing skills that I may not have touched in a while. I am also looking forward to passing on my experiences not with just the area I am teaching, but with ways to navigate through life, no matter what it may throw at these kids. I am looking forward to teaching my love and my life’s
