During my childhood, most of the families and friends acknowledged myself as the most courageous one among the peer. They said that when I interacted with other people, even with the elderly, I was always outspoken and never hesitant. In my opinion, these personalities appeared as a result of principle values such as confidence, honesty, tolerance and respect taught by my parents.
Ever since I entered school, inadvertently I have adopted the values to explore my passions in leadership. Every year I always dared myself running for student leader which I often succeeded. By being a leader, I understood that it was not all about owning power or reputation, but demonstrating good responsibilities and the ability to manage circumstances as well.

The team and I ought to start everything from scratch; from developing vision and goals, to arranging work plan and priorities. Leading a group of freshmen was quite challenging for myself due to the diverse perspectives and personalities within. Nevertheless, through communications and sharing responsibilities proportionately, in three months I was able to unite the team. The concert was held as planned and gaining appreciations from the audiences.
After earning bachelor's degree in 2006, I started exploring leadership skills at professional level. While working as journalist for four years in KOMPAS, I became knowledgeable in drafting, communicating, and executing ideas. On the other hand, I also emphasized my empathy, which is essential to an effective leadership, through applying active listening to the people whom I interviewed, trying to put myself in their shoes, and writing up their compelling stories to solve the emerging problems.
Those skills persisted even after I switched my job to becoming communications and programmatic officer at several national and international organizations. With more opportunities to join bigger teams, I have improved working ethically and successfully delivered the expected results through a better team
