To be a good leader is not the authority we have over others but what we do to gain the acceptance of others. For me, what we accomplish throughout life represents who we are as a person and can be measured through the people we help, the work that is done, how we treat others and the responsibilities we take. I have had the opportunity to expose myself to volunteering and leading by involving myself with the community, like those who are handicapped and at the Calgary International Children’s Festival, in school through club activities, out with the community, like those who are handicapped and at the Calgary International Children’s Festival, and in my household of seven which I call my family. With each club, I have been given the responsibility to lead younger students and hopefully influence them to be just as passionate as I am for the events and activities that we take on. I believe that clubs are a way for students to be involved with the school and have their voices heard in order for change to occur. It is also a safe place for those who have been bullied and need help making friends. Along with clubs, I have been taking Leadership since grade 9 to learn how to be a better leader and to improve the school atmosphere. Throughout my Leadership experience, I have learned that it takes a lot of responsibility in order to be a good citizen.
