As many of us may know fast food is the number one leading cause of obesity in America. Recent studies have shown that more than 60% of children since 1970 has been classified as overweight and has tripled from 5% to 17%. However, adult’s obesity rose from two-thirds of the population causing the consumption of food to rise. Our job as people is to prevent others from becoming obese, by information them with information about diets, health risks, organic foods, images in the media, and emotional/physical effects on teens and adults. Many years ago there were very little images in the media about obesity, but as time progressed people started to get lazy and started to eat out at fast food restaurants more and more and eventually this became a natural habit for them. Today many children and even adults prefer to eat fast food instead of home cooked meals because of this they suffer from obesity. One of the main causes in obesity is their lifestyle, education, and diet. Obesity is the second leading cause of death in America and affects about one third of the American population. Fast food is typically high in calories which brings about eating excessively calories. It can result in additional weight pick up and obesity. Individuals that have a habit of eating fast food tend to expend more calories rather than individuals who are not chronic of eating fast food. By consuming fast food it can result in the following: high cholesterol, high blood pressure, headaches, acne, shortness of breath, headaches, dental distress, bloating and puffiness, a blood sugar spike, and most of all extra calories that are not needed.
