When it comes to university I've always known that I wanted to attend, although I was always slightly indecisive about the actual course I wanted to take however, I have always been fascinated by the ever-changing industry that is fashion, so obviously once I decided on the course/subject I wanted to do I knew incorporating fashion would be the right way to go. After looking into things I decided I would like to do fashion communication, as it sounds very interesting as a course itself but also broadens my horizons for when I begin to plan my future after university and the job roles I could apply for. For as long as I can remember I have always loved clothes and the fashion world. I think my love for fashion first formed because of my Mum, shopping with her was, and still is something I love to do. Personally I love how fashion seems to go on in a never ending circle, meaning that even now we can still witness trends from the fashion boom of the 60s, bringing back old style icons such as Twiggy, the original super model and the trendsetter that was Audrey Hepburn. After becoming very interested in writing and journalism, my love for fashion in the media expanded to include fashion journalism which in turn led me to the likes of Vogue and Elle. The media role within fashion such as journalism is highly crucial as without it, it would be almost impossible for the fashion world to mix and switch trends, ideas and opinions. However, when studying for A levels you get a lot more freedom with what you want to do, which in turn could be a bit to overpowering for many as we have been taught to always abide by rules and keep to regulations during past years, however I found it enthralling that we were aloud to go of and make our own decisions. I chose Art, English Literature, English Language and Business to study at A Level, this was because I decided that these four subjects would assist me in getting to wear I need to be in order to achieve my goals. Upon reaching sixth form, a lot of my work became very analytical and essay based which improved my analysis and evaluation skills a lot, overall giving me a lot more confidence when broadening and creating my personal writing style. Studying for my A levels has really helped me improve my time management skills meaning I work a lot better under pressure. English language as a subject has shown me how powerful the media is when it comes to change, for example since using different social media our vocabulary has altered greatly. Studying Art, has shown me how there are many different concepts within a subject for example you could look at street photographers such as Anna Delany and Zach Arias both under the same subject however the concepts within them couldn't be more different. Studying business at A level has really improved the way I look at certain aspects of running a
