I find Computer Science interesting, enjoyable and mentally challenging. It is continually evolving and is at the forefront of all breakthroughs in science, mathematics and technology. All industries such as engineering, entertainment, business and education are greatly dependant on and have been immensely advanced by the computer industry. Computing is an innovative and dynamic subject with an abundance of intellectually stimulating, exciting and challenging career opportunities.
Since childhood computers have fascinated me, when I enjoyed many hours of playing with programs such as paint. I often wondered how so much information and media could be stored in such a small device. However, it was only as I grew older I began to wonder how it worked and how the various components interacted with each other. My enjoyment and progress in GCSE Maths, ICT, Further Maths and AS Level Maths and ICT has greatly enhanced my ability to think logically and find creative solutions to problems in a timely manner. I have also achieved highest in my year in 3 subjects at GCSE; ICT, English Literature and Product Design.
I have excellent communication skills which enables me to express my ideas both orally and visually. I derive great enjoyment from the challenges presented in problem solving and I am extremely patient with a focused attitude towards my work. My patient qualities help me to deal with difficult problems which may occur when making programs work as planned and the ability to pay attention to detail. To get the optimum amount of work done I organise and prioritise to allow me to plan ahead efficiently and effectively.
