Pharmacy is an engaging health profession that links several invaluable academic fields including science, healthcare, business, math and more. It is an ever-changing and growing career that is positively impacting everyone in the world. This is the reason why, throughout my high school and college life, I have tried to take classes that are important for my success within the field of pharmaceutical science. Furthermore, I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry and Biology, but I also took some classes that are crucial to understanding the psychological effects of drugs in patients. It involved a whole new experience, especially since I had to move alone for the first time. I had to face various different challenges. Meeting new people and learning a new culture were among the few difficulties I had when I started my life here. Language barriers were another challenge that I had to face, primarily due to the minimal English background I had when first I moved. However, I was able to overcome all these problems in a short time based on the experience I developed in other countries that I have been (Kenya and Sudan) before arriving in the USA. At first, I had no choice but to get a job that pays the bill. My first job was at Wendy's and I worked there for four years. Starting as a crew member, by the time I left Wendy's I was the restaurant manager, and throughout the years I worked there, I got tremendous experience working with customers. As a restaurant manager, I had to work a minimum of 50 hours a week, while going school full time. I had to make some sacrifices in order to be successful in school, and I had to look another job, which allowed me to work less and spend more time focusing on academia.
