Persuasive Essay On Animal Cloning

579 Words3 Pages

First and foremost, what is cloning? Cloning refers to the process in which the genetic material of a host organism is copied, predominantly through asexual processes, to produce an organism that is genetically identical to its progenitor. Naturally, this process occurs within a variety of bacteria and plants. By undergoing transformation, produced plasmids are transferred to form bacterial colonies that will then be cultured to create identical bacteria. The colonies of the newly produced identical bacteria will result in the formation of plasmid and proteins. Similarly in plants, tissue is cultured through the act of cutting parts from the parent plant. For asexual reproduction to occur, the plant material shall pair up with agar jelly and combine with hormones to generate growth. …show more content…

A new insight on animal cloning will result following the discovery of natural bacterial and plant reproduction. With technology continually advancing and improving within the years, scientific research and discoveries have also begun to catch on. The merge of scientific and technological research has created a new recent breakthrough in genetic, therapeutic, and reproductive cloning through genetic and stem cell research. The result of this breakthrough has become the controversial topic of human cloning. Opposing groups continually argue that the act of cloning and destruction of embryos for personal use is unethical, while proposing groups argue that destruction of embryos is acceptable with consent from the donor. Human cloning allows for the possibility in understanding the flaws in genetics, finding cures, and improving future generations’
