Animal Testing Animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to test the safety of products. Although this can be good for human safety, is extremely painful for the animals. Here is some information about animal testing and what I think about this controversial topic.
Animals should not be used in research or to test the safety of products. There are other reliable alternatives to test products. Cosmetics can be tested using artificial skin. They can also be tested using Eyetex, a product that turns opaque when a product damages it. It can resemble the way an eye reacts to harmful substances. Animals are like humans. They feel, think, behave, and experience pain just like us. If we were in their place we would also feel pain from the brutal tests. Skin and eye cosmetic irritation tests have chemicals rubbed on their skin or dripped into their eyes. The animals suffer many days or even weeks feeling immense pain after the experiments without any source of pain relief. Other tests involve killing pregnant animals and using their embryo.

There have been many cures and treatments discovered by testing on animals. Brain injury, breast cancer, childhood leukemia, and many other conditions have been treated and understood with animal research. Cosmetics have to be safe because a mass amount of people use them everyday . For that reason animal testing on cosmetics is authorized by the US Food and Drug Administration. Animals can also be better research subjects than humans. Many animals have very short life spans. As a result, scientists can use this to their advantage. They will be able to study a whole life span of effects from a product in a short
