Genetically Modified Foods

So the topic at hand is GMOs, but why is this a hard topic for many to fully understand and get a rock solid opinion on? Seeing as the big picture and reasoning behind the growing and consumption of GMOs is very important. For example a big positive of GMOs is the relief of the vastly growing populace and the already millions starving in many corners of the globe. Many scientists would say because the general public simply does not know enough information about them to come up with an informed opinion rather the opinion of many outspoken critics. The reasoning behind this thinking is backed up by the vast majority of research done on GMOs showing conclusive data that GMOs are safe to consume. In one hand you are feeding millions, but in another you are possibly creating a superbug that will destroy our food source. Many scientists believe that GMOs are safe, and many do not think quite the same. The big question we need to ask is whether it is worth the risk or not? What can we do to if wanted make GMOs that are in the long run better and safer than the original organism? What will we do as a species?
