Teens are having trouble passing their driving test because they do not get proper training. Poor instruction causes these young drivers to be involved in accidents on the road, which is why driving schools need to be aware of the various bad habits of driving. Educating new drivers on the proper way to drive will provide a safer environment on the road. Using a mobile device while driving is a huge dilemma causing thousands of deaths and accidents per year. Texting, changing the song, and looking at the time are all examples of this careless habit. Most states have banned texting and driving which means if a driver is seen texting and driving by a cop, a ticket will be distributed. Drivers should put their phone out of sight and on silent so there is no temptation to touch it. Some phones even have a “do not disturb while driving” option, which generates mobile devices to be inactive while driving. Being persistent about putting your mobile device away can potentially save a lot of money or possibly save a life.
Another bad habit drivers have is the tendency to not wear a seatbelt. Wearing a seatbelt can prevent you from getting injured and also from getting a ticket. Not stopping at a stop sign will not only result in an automatic zero on a driver’s license test, but it could also result in a very expensive ticket from a cop, and could cause an accident with another driver. Even if there is not a car in sight, completely stop the vehicle and look both ways before proceeding because there could always be someone running their stop sign.
