In the world today we are facing an epidemic of deaths caused by texting while driving.The trend of texting while driving increases fatalities every day in the U.S , as a result deaths are increasing rapidly. Teens are the main problem many different phone carriers and states are willing to take action to prevent deaths. The study from the author, “Delthia Ricks ‘ showed that teens are subjected to three thousand annual deaths and three hundred thousand injuries in just one year. In the same study forty nine percent of male teens admitted to texting and driving. One of the main problems is social media, everyone wants to be cool on snapchat for their friends. The website Dmv.org states that in the state of Texas 109,658 accidents were caused from distracted driving. States are taking any necessary actions to crack down on texting while driving. As a result of the rising deaths new drivers have to take courses for texting while driving to know the risk before they can get their license. Also they have to take a test to show what they do in certain situations on the road to reduce accidents. In the recents years states are advertising safe driving by putting quotes on the side of the road.
