Pursuing A Career As An Agricultural Loan Officer In Rural Nebraska

By attending college, I will achieve goals I have set for myself. Foremost, I want to major in Ag Economics. I have already set this goal in motion by being accepted to the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, in which I will begin classes in August 2016. Once I receive my bachelor’s degree, I want to work for a rural Nebraska bank or in a firm such as Wells Fargo as an agricultural loan officer. Having lived in rural Nebraska all my life, I have seen and experienced the impact agriculture has on society. Being an agricultural loan officer in rural Nebraska will give me the opportunity to be part of that impact as farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs are constantly expanding and/or needing financial assistance. As an agricultural loan officer, I will be able to assist local producers and agricultural businesses in meeting their financial and production goals. I am a hands-on person and proficient in math skills. I am a quick learner, and I don’t shy away from taking risks. I am passionate about agriculture, especially animal production. I also possess strong communication skills and a good work ethic. As a college student and Ag Economics major, I will use these strengths to achieve high levels of success whether that is learning a new concept in the classroom or a hands-on assignment or job. My weakness of being unorganized at times does not hamper my successes though.
