In Romeo and Juliet, Mercutio states that “dreams are the children of an idle brain” after talking to Romeo about Queen Mab and how she manipulates people’s dreams based on their lifestyle. I agree with the statement because a dream is an imagination you have when you are asleep for your own sensation and are usually not possible. Dreams are made up based on the subconsciousness of the human mind. For example, Mercutio states that “Begot of nothing but vain fantasy” (I.iv.99). Mercutio is basically saying that dreams are fantasies and are based on the desires of the human mind and that they do not occur in real-life.

Some evidence to support this argument would be this quote. This quote is basically describing what is going on before Lord Capulet 's party starts. Essentially what is going on during this time is that Mercutio and Benvolio are forcing Romeo to go to a party so he can invest his time in a new girl instead of moping about Rosaline, who is the girl Romeo loved before.

Although the teenagers portrayed in William Shakespear’s story Romeo and Juliet and typical teenagers of today have their differences, I believe they have more similarities. Along with having more similarities, the similarities they share are stronger than the ways they are different. The similarities are more important topics than the small differences the two have. The main reason for all of the differences is because the characters Romeo and Juliet and teenagers today are living in different time periods. This is the cause of all differences like technology, communication, and language.
