Imagine being younger and forced to live in horrible conditions. In Loung Ung’s memoir, First They Killed My Father, she explains how she feels about the horrific conditions she was going through as a child of war. To begin with when Ung was younger her life was threatened on a daily basis because of her beliefs. For example in the the text explains ,“Capitalist should be shot and killed” (Ung #312).
Injustice the Cornerstone of Sadness Once upon a time a civil rights activist named Martin Luther King Jr. declared, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” (“Injustice Quotes”). Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird has the recurring theme of injustice which rears its head in varying ways. Citizens of Maycomb from all social classes possesse many preconceived notions about people that lived differently from themselves, and this often resulted in injustice.
A large group of students in the United States makeup a large population of English language learners. Students who are considered English language learners undergo many challenges in their education, and without the necessary support and resources from their educators it can make it hard for them to succeed. A teacher plays a significant role in the success of a child, and it is crucial for them to be able to provide the proper education to students whose first language is not English. It is also very important for teachers to understand the challenges that these students are facing. Having empathy towards the students allows for the teacher to create better connections and relationships to better help them.
I am currently teaching at Swainston Middle School in North Las Vegas. Our student population is very diverse, including English Language Learners (ELLs). During this time as a teacher, I have served students with different language needs. It has been my goal to engage ELL students in my lessons as every other student. It is my opinion that as teachers we are all language teachers.
I am applying at Kanawha City Elementary in hopes to find my future classroom. I have always enjoyed my placements during school that I had in fifth grade. I am the type of teacher that wants to help all students learn and grow. I am flexible and have the ability to change my lesson if I know it's not working. Being a recent graduate, I have fresh ideas, experience from substituting and placements, and knowledge about how to teach a class.
I am currently employed as a substitute teacher for the Richland School District, located in Shafter, CA. I have been a substitute teacher for about six months and it has been a great experience which is one reason why I want to continue my career and get my teaching credentials. I am interested in becoming a Physical Education teacher so I can make a difference in children’s lives. I am choosing to pursue teaching as a profession because I know I can leave a positive impact on children. Being around sports and physical fitness has given me the motivation and knowledge to teach children the importance of maintaining active and healthy.
Therefore, I think me as a teacher I want to be able to find a school that will provide support for other teachers, and a place where we can all work
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to become a teacher. I knew it would be challenging, but rewarding with many benefits to come. But no one ever told me it can result in me getting sued. I graduated from Rutgers University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and I was on my way to finishing up my teaching certification. The following school year I was set to start student teaching, but everything changed when the Superintendent of my old Middle School offered me position teaching math.
As I seek for a degree in Educational Leadership I will work for the students in our schools, fighting to improve the quality of teachers that they each
I can remember to this day when I was younger, and every day that I went to school, I would admire my teachers and all their hard work. I told myself all the time, that in the future, that would be me. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I knew I wanted to be hardworking, selfless, and dedicated in my future career, and to me that is exactly what an educator is. I strive to be a teacher that inspires others to love learning as much as I do and also to create a welcoming learning environment in which my students can thrive.
I am currently a head start lead teacher in a preschool classroom. I teach children from three to five years old. I am currently working with the preschool curriculum high scope. As a teacher I would like to increase my best practice in mathematics in the classroom setting. When I plan for my lesson plans as a teacher I always plan for language and literacy and science.
Teachers have always been a massive impact in my life. I was brought to this country at such a young and had no prior knowledge of English. So, I have a strong appreciation to those teachers/mentors that had the immense patience with my family and I. I would like to repay those who were a part of my education learning experience. I believe that I have much potential in the Education field specifically here in Arizona due to it being a bilingual area. As a result, I would like to work with students in general no matter where they fall in the General Education spectrum, but preferably 1st through 3rd grade would be ideal.
I would like to be a fun and creative teacher. Building relationships with the students is very important. My students should not be afraid to talk to me. All of my students must be respectful and willing to learn.
As a future middle school teacher, I plan on creating a loving and warm environment so that my students will always feel welcomed. I plan on building relationships with every student by getting to know them and letting the students get to know me. The students in my class will respect each other and want to help on another because I will foster an environment that promotes support. I will culturally aware and teach my students to be culturally aware as well in my classroom. My lesson plans will be created for the students and spark motivation for the students to want to learn.
As I pursue my career as an educator, I wish to teach grades pre-kindergarten through fourth grade in a school district that fosters growth and opportunities. I will exhibit qualities of a dedicated, nurturing and natural leader throughout my career. As I develop my profession, I will develop my leadership skills to become an educator that strives for human growth and development, diversity, and service to others. I will foster academic achievement, but more importantly individualized achievement. By developing a classroom community that shows compassion and empathy, my students will own the qualities of an outstanding citizen.
