I’m Kennadee! This is my first semester at NSU and I’m majoring in special education. I just transferred from TCC, where I was majoring in early childhood education. I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was elementary school. My mom used to work at my school, so I would arrive about 45 before I could go to my classroom. I would spend this extra time helping one of our special education teachers’s set up her classroom and gather her materials she would need for the day. I absolutely loved this and I continued to spend more and more time in her classroom. I would come in before class, during recess, and after school to help her and to spend time with her students. I continued peer tutoring and volunteering in classrooms until I was in 11th grade, when I no longer could because of a conflict with my new school schedule because I was attending Tulsa Tech. At Tulsa Tech I studied early childhood development and realized how much I loved being with little ones. Through all of my experiences with children I really found my passion in teaching, especially teaching students with special needs.
