The role of the teacher is an important one, we are with our students seven hours a day, five days a week. As a teacher, I am the one responsible for making sure that each child in my classroom receives the education that he or she deserves. Everyone, no matter their race, social status, or religion, has the right to an education. As a teacher, I have an effect on every student that enters my classroom, whether the effect is positive or negative is up to me. It is my responsibility to provide each student with the tools needed for a successful educational experience. By using the well tested theories and philosophies of those before me, I am able to have the positive impact that I strive for. There are many unique ways of learning, just as there are many ways for teaching. The relationships that I build with each student helps me to understand how each student learns, it is my responsibility to adapt my way of teaching to what is best for my students. For high level learners in my classroom, I have additional work for them to complete once their regular assignment is finished. For lower level learners, I am able modify assignments as needed. I need to be flexible, as each day the unexpected may happen, and each day I am prepared to adjust my plans seamlessly to accommodate these changes. It is important to me, that my students are able to become independent problem solvers. They are able to do this by using the resources around them. While problem solving they could ask a classmate, use the tools in the classroom that are available to them, or do research on the internet. Once the problem has been solved, they are expected to learn from it for next time. By learning to be an independent problem solver within the classroom setting, my students are able to transfer this knowledge to real world experiences that they may
