This was the first time I experienced the students selecting the team and not having an instructor create the teams. Following the course instructions with finding partners was difficult. Maybe because this was the time of having to ask someone to become my partner. Immediately fear of lack of support from my peers’ acceptance of the offer, and fear of not successfully completing this task with a willing partner. My mentor teacher has management procedures set up that encourage students to take responsibility for their class work and class materials. The underlying reason he uses the procedures he does is because the age, maturity, and overall responsibility skill are varied due to the blended freshman and junior atmosphere.
