Throughout my years in school, science and computer tech have always been up my alley. However, despite understanding my tastes in knowledge, my goals and direction were not as clear. Not only was I entranced by the idea of empirical science, but also by the qualitative distinctions in music and philosophy. Nevertheless, although I have an affinity for playing trumpet and coming up with morals, I feel that natural sciences is the best academic culture that can fit me, due to the fact that I like problem solving, research, and critical thinking. Within the Natural Sciences culture, I plan on majoring in computer science, which focuses mostly on computer programming here at UTSA. It happens to be found within the College of Sciences, with the current dean being George Perry, who runs the college. Though I happen to agree with the classes within the …show more content…
At first I thought I would be an amazing scientist, but as time passed, I realized that I had to make some type of decision as to what kind of scientist I wanted to become. That is when I got involved with computer tech and earned certifications in the Informations Systems field which is the study of how computers are used in a business format. As my studies went forth, I found that I was not only interested in learning about how humans use computers to increase productivity but what goes on under the hood, and how rapid electrical pulses translated to bits to bytes to machine code to code to pixels. Thus a computer science degree became my goal. As far as the Sokanu goes, it labeled me as a bit more artistic than investigative, which I mainly lend to my enjoyment of playing trumpet and dabbling in drawing here and there. Still, I find that the Sokanu results have served to only reinforce my current habits of playing music for fun on the side while focusing on studying logical thinking and
