I have decided to apply to the University of Wisconsin – Madison for multiple reasons. My father is an alumnus of this school and loves it immensely. It has a great campus, a great community and especially, an amazing engineering program. It also has many extracurricular activities that I would be delighted to join. I feel that the University of Wisconsin-Madison would be a great place for me.
Growing up in San Francisco, I’ve only knows two and a half “seasons”, cold, foggy, and at times, hot. My father has always told me that in Madison, there are four seasons, each to its own beauty and wonder. Being there would be an amazing opportunity to experience the world in a way I have never experienced before. It would also mean that I would be on the other side of the country from my parents, and I will learn to grow even more independent and learn to be able to take care of all my needs myself. Learning to make tough decisions is something every person needs to learn in life, and I believe that being at Madison would help me with that.

I am currently on my high school track and field team, and I hope to continue this sport at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am also on an out of school archery team where I both compete and instruct the beginners. Since I have a level one instructor’s license in archery, I’m confident that I can contribute to the archery club at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Participating in clubs and sports allows me to get to know a variety of different people with different interests and allows me to be more involved in the school. I think being involved in a school is the key to a great school
