1. Introduction
i. Today, a lot of teenagers aren’t getting enough sleep from being busy ii. Teenagers often tend to stay up late on their electronics. They also stay up watching television. But, some kids are up late doing their homework until 3 a.m. from being too busy to do it earlier or they have too much homework. iii. When teenagers stay up to late it causes them to be too tired to fully function properly until further in the day.

i. Adolescents and Sleep ii. Sometimes when you are trying to go asleep your biological clock causes you to stay awake. The article states the biological clock is, “a clock that sometimes acts against the sleep-wake cycle by keeping us alert when we should be feeling tired” iii. i. Teens, Sleep and School ii. In the article it says, “Daytime sleepiness makes it difficult to concentrate and learn, or even stay awake in class. To little sleep may contribute to mood swings and behavioral problems” iii. The article says that are bodies are, “the more melatonin levels rise later at night than they do in children and the adults—and remain at a higher level later in the morning” iv. If teens wouldn’t have so many problems going to sleep and getting enough, they would function more properly and work more efficiently.
