The mission statement of a sports medicine program serves as a blueprint for all services to be offered. When evaluating an organization’s mission statement both the goals of the program and understanding the philosophy of the program are the two most important components to accepting a job opportunity. The mission statement should communicate that the work we do as athletic trainers is important and needed. Failure to believe in the precepts described in the mission statement may not inspire one to always do a good job. Understanding and agreeing upon the values and beliefs of the organization help establish and maintain and an employee’s commitment.
Athletic programs at many colleges and universities are back and forth with the school’s mission statement. The term student athlete means student first athlete second. It is now at a point where it can be argued that people say the athlete first athlete and school second. Regardless what the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations say, some recruited athletes are treated better than others and the athletes are given better benefits. Some athletes are not prepared for college level classes, with added requirements by the NCAA.
The American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) is most worthy of donations because they play a huge role in the health of our athletes that we love watching day in and day out. They not only conduct research on specifically sports related injuries but also look for solutions for other non related medical issues such as diseases too. Their mission statement is: “AMSSM provides a forum to foster professional relationships among sports medicine physicians to advance the discipline of sports medicine through education, research, advocacy, and excellence in patient care”. I chose this organization because it is a field I’ve thought about pursuing myself and feel like it’s something very worth getting into however like most other professions requires a lot of hard work, and dedication. Their goals are to ‘serve as the premier educational resource for sports medicine physicians, advance sports medicine research and scholarship through funding support, collaboration and partnerships, uphold and promote priority issues in sports medicine

Water as a renewable energy source has been used within human society since the creation of the water wheel. Hydroelectricity continues to be utilized today in countries such as the United States and is an obviously viable option to clean, renewable energy. However, Energy: A Beginner’s Guide by Vaclav Smil, reveals the consequences of hydropower that most people are generally unaware of. I decided upon hydroelectric power to reflect on because I was initially in favor of using it as a substitute to fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas.
The Denison Taekwondo Club is a student led organization that is an extension of the Introduction to Taekwondo class. Though the club is student led, legal and liability reasons require that the club is overseen by a certified Taekwondo instructor. Denison’s Taekwondo Club meets three times a week while weekends provide an opportunity for members to join sessions at the Westerville Taekwondo Dojo. Being associated with the Westerville Dojo, the club falls under Taekwondo America, the national organization that oversees and standardizes the teaching methods of schools across the nation. Consequently, this case study will apply and use Taekwondo America’s mission statement as well as its codes of conduct and philosophy of martial arts.

Mission To start I wanted to reiterate the mission of the organization: The mission of Moving Athletes Forward is to support injured high school and college athletes from the Greater Chicago Area that have lost their college scholarships due to a sports related injury.
In T. S. Elliot’s poem “Preludes,” society is presented as a wasteland because of the usage of concrete objects and descriptions that metaphorically explore life and society. Throughout this poem, the reader realizes society going through a cycle of meaningless routines. With the use of vivid imagery, T.S. Eliot shows that modern cities are beacons of decay. The speaker of “Preludes” is a city bystander who abhors urban life.
