If we pay college athletes that will work even more hard when they come to practice and working out in the weight room. “Billions of dollars are being passed around by the NCAA and they don't pay the athletes anything”, (Stephen 1) but the coaches get majority of the money. Pay athletes, they work way to hard just for title, they deserve more than just a ring and a pat on the back. The money that the NCAA gets can be put in college athletes pocket instead of being put in the pockets of those who don't put in the work. “Pay not perks” (Stephen 1) should be given to athletes. What that means is, “do not use athletes for perks, but pay them money as an incentive for the time they play”, (Stephen 1) and they will feel like if they did not make it to a championship their time would not seem like it was wasted. Playing any sports in college pays off for programs but not for college athletes. College athletes put in the work for all sports to get in the pros but if they get hurt what do athletes have to fall back on? Hard work should really pay off for college athletes so they can have money to fall back on if they should get hurt. There are many reasons why college athletes should get paid for what they do. “When we start paying athletes they will give us more effort on being on time and performance”.
