I come from a small town of Meeker, OK where I started my education and graduated with a class of 65. My family is my firm foundation and I have been blessed with a support system. I have grown up with a mother, grandmother and grandfather, aunts and uncles who have all led a career as an educator. Throughout my life I have enjoyed countless car rides talking about education in Oklahoma and spent several hours as a teacher’s kid after school and throughout the summer in the classroom preparing for the next class. My outlook on life is to try new things and help others. Are there areas in which you have struggled academically? If so, how have you responded to those struggles and how might they affect you as you begin ExCEL or the All Day Monday experience?
Academically, I am open-minded and organized. I enjoy learning and keep my mind open to new possibilities and perspectives. Academics are at the upmost importance in my life. I take honor in learning academically to gain a large pool of knowledge. I struggle academically if I am not able to interacting with learning. If the class requires me to sit and listen for hours, I will not obtain the information. I learn best when I am able to interact with the learning and it is applied to real life experiences. Overall, there have been a few classes that I worried about and often did not test well. Normally, if I have a deep understanding of what I am suppose to study, I can work to achieve my best. If I were to pick a subject that I struggle the most with it would be science. Throughout my education I have had instructors that have made the subject difficult to wrap my mind around. Through this situation, I have an understanding of the influence of the teacher and how important it is to truly know where my students excel and
