For my ethical issues paper, I am going to be researching and studying the topic of Animal testing. I chose to do this topic because it has occurred to me about how wrong it is to test animals over the beauty products and other cosmetics used. I believe animal testing is wrong and it should stop all around the world. I know of many different brands that uses animals to test their products and I am going to research and find out why any company would use animal testing. Animal testing in cosmetics should not be allowed in the world, it can cause many difficulties and is not always accurate. Animals have been used in scientific testing for thousands of years (Gale). The first vivisection was performed by Greek philosopher Alcmaeon around 450 B.C. (Gale). They test animals on cosmetics to see if they will work. While they might help researchers, it puts the animals in danger and it’s not worth the risk. Animals are killed or kept in captivity during animal testing (Murnaghan). Countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use while others are injured and will still live the remainder of their lives in captivity. Testing animals on beauty products is unacceptable and wrong. Animals and humans do not share 100% DNA match (Murnaghan).
