From this class, I have learned to work with other people, including students and adults, as well as leading a team, creating ideas, and problem
The UIC Honors College provides students with a community of scholars whose goal is to provide support to students with need and challenge him or her on every step for a better and fruitful experience and make the experience of undergraduate studies memorable. The Honors College provides a fellow with research opportunities, financial support and many other facilities which helps students learn and give back to the community at large whatever has been incurred. I want to learn from UIC's top scholars and make a difference in my field of study. The resources, professors and the learning environment would guide me in my field of study and would help me in contributing to the community.
I am accustomed to a rigorous course load and having to manage my time. Being a part of the Honors College, surrounded by those who share the same ideals and high standards as I do, will only further my success. Living in an academically inclined environment would allow for me to make great working relationships and friendships! Not only that, but the Honors College provides many opportunities for study groups and extra help; which will be rather beneficial considering I am planning on majoring in biochemistry. I would be an exceptional candidate for the Honors College because I am not only interested in getting a fantastic education, but I want to get involved in the school and make my college experience the best that it can be.
This criticism is not a misconception but a fact. College honors programs are designed to be selective when surfing through pools of applicants to choose the students most qualified for the program. As a result, several applicants attracted to the programs will be privileged or entitled students (or at least those who think they are). These types of students believe that they’re well qualified for honors programs due to their excellent academic work during their high school years. Additionally, the competitiveness of honors programs portrays the application process as an example of the “survival of the fittest”, making students at the top of their classes think that they have an advantage when applying to honors, therefore, labeling them as
First, the class is small compared to other big universities with the ratio of 1 to 11 of faculty and students. With smaller classes, I get more attentions when I needed, and I can network with
Upon having received my acceptance letter from Salisbury University, I immediately began to contemplate the inevitable future, including my educational goals. Admittance into the college was the first step, but I felt as though I needed to further expand. Through research, I discovered the Bellavance Honors Program, and realized membership would be the perfect match for me. After scrolling through the various informational sections, I found scholarships, courses, and other benefits not otherwise available to regular students. Moreover, I would be allowed the opportunity to enhance my degree, increasing my marketability to prospective employers.
For me, joining the business leadership honors program was an obvious choice ever since I met you in your office to speak of it last semester. I am a highly dedicated student, and feel the need to continually be challenged. I think that this program is ideal to help me develop better academically, personally, and help me to network with current students, and successful alumni. The Business Leadership Program is also appealing for the prestige that it provides. It would be a great honor to be admitted to the program above other successful and dedicated students.
The Honors College requires members
Firstly, to engage in research as the Departmental Honors award is based on Research involvement. Zeringue stated, “research allowed me to work and think independently, develop skills outside of my coursework, and get a feel for academia” as research was a big part of his life. Secondly, to find opportunities outside of the classroom such as the ICAT Program, that can also lead to international travels. Thirdly, to find a successful mentor to help guide you on your path to success. Zeringue advises, “the best lessons you learn in college won’t come from a textbook but from people who have been there and done that and are willing to share their experiences with you.”
Multi-tasking is a great example of one of these skills. Job expectations can be enhanced by going to several classes, handling different projects at once, and having set due dates to report by all help with the real-world job expectations. The research and typing one does for class projects help strengthen job skills and will likely be beneficial later on. Computer knowledge is of the utmost importance in the work field. College prepares one with all the computer safety, tips, and tricks that help move through assignments easier, whether in class or on the job.
Not to mention the fact that all of us would appreciate culture in the same way. The great thing about these programs are that they bring people together with similar interests. Traveling is another great aspect of the honors program. It
Also this helped with skills such as being organised which would be important for getting equipment and getting ready for lectures. Another skill that i learnt is to be independent since in university you will have to do a lot of independent study and
