Speech for NJHS Induction Ceremony Good evening students, faculty, and family members! Thank you, Mrs. Reece and Principal King, for inviting me to this year’s National Junior Honor Society induction ceremony. Students, tonight we honor your achievements in the areas of Scholarship, Citizenship, Responsibility, Community Service, Character, and Leadership as we recognize and celebrate the choices, and at times the sacrifices, you have made. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "The reward of a thing well done is to have done it."
The National Honor Society is an organization with many functions, not only within school, but also within the community. I see the National Honor Society and its members as outstanding students with exceptional accomplishments and recognitions, who have stood out from others in academic achievement, community service, and leadership. It functions to provide a distinction from other high school students for the work of those in the organization. All of its members come together to enhance the quality of our community and school as a whole. If I am selected to join this organization, I will contribute my intellect and problem-solving abilities to help the organization progress in whatever it is that it pursues.
I am honored to be nominated for Crestwood’s National Honor Society for the 2017-2018 school year. I feel as if I use these four characteristics every day. Scholarship is something that I take for granted. When I think of school, I think it’s easy and all it takes is doing your homework to get good grades.
Since I heard about the National Junior Honor Society in sixth grade, I wanted to be a part of it because I have always wanted to make a difference in our community, and joining NJHS would help make that possible. I also want to become a part of NJHS because I want to make our school better, by helping students get more involved with after-school activities, like going to football games, and community service, even if it’s as small as donating a can or two to the food bank. I believe I can contribute both my optimistic attitude and my leadership skills to NJHS. My optimistic attitude allows me to never give up and hope for the best possible outcome of a situation, which helps me to finish projects with quality and effort before they are due,
My academic achievements throughout my high school career show that hard work and dedication truly do pay off in the long run. All throughout my sophomore
As the current valedictorian of the class of 2018, I have ensured that as I excel in my grades, others around me have succeeded as well. In a school that was known for being
National Honor Society Essay I should be inducted into the Cesar E. Chavez High School Chapter of the National Honor Society because, I’m well-rounded, goal oriented, a multitasker, and have a strong determination to be successful. At the start of middle school, I began to realize how important it was for me to have a vision for my life. I started looking at colleges and what majors they offered. I was born in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan.
Ever since Elementary school, I have always wanted to find ways to help the community. I enjoy doing things that not only help people in our community, but also the environment. For example, I live within walking distance to the dam and sometimes go and pick up trash in and around the Lake. I think that if I join NJHS, I will have a lot more opportunities to do a lot more things like this. If I am accepted into NJHS, I will be able to give to the needy which will strengthen our community and make a bond between all of us and improve the quality of life among everyone in and around Bloomington.
I took a deep breath and slowly walked toward the stage. As I ascended, I thought of all the late night study sessions, paper cuts, and after school meetings. Reaching to shake the principal’s hand and receive my diploma, I thought of the hours I had dedicated to my education and felt a wave of satisfaction flood over me. This was it. I had graduated high school and accomplished my goal; I was valedictorian.
Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others. For a majority of my life, I believed that each day is comprised of a stream of mundane moments and ever so few exemplary experiences. At this beginning of summer 2017, I embarked on a journey that greatly influenced the outlook on life, as I experienced life away from society for an extended period of time. At first, my personal growth began a slow rise, as living in the woods was a new experience for me. However, once I began working with others, I discovered that I work well with others in an activity that I enjoy.
I was an all A and B student. I have received two Undergraduate Awards in Concept Science, and Algebra 1. In addition, I have earned an Excellent Citizenship Award as well as a Character Education Award and a Principals Award for Overall Academic Excellence through English for Speakers of Other Languages Program Senior Graduate. I am very proud of the fact that I have never received detention or missed a single day of high school during my entire school career. Even, outside from school, I have made, The Character Education Award Recognized for my respectful nature, positive character and attention to others, Scholastic Achievement Award: In Recognition Of Sustained Academic Excellence, All STAR AWARD and Excellent Citizenship Award.
The academy has on numerous occasions recognised my contribution not only by giving the most precious gift of all. A simple Thank You. But by also naming me on the "Jean Tate Award for Service to the Community Lower School" and the "Award for Service to The Academy" I have also been recognised for my enthusiasm of learning as I have obtained a further three trophies for Attainment within my subjects as I have on various occasions exceed the target grades that I
People with the need for achievement would love to be recognized and congratulated for their achievement or success (McClelland, 1961). They have the determination to work
An accomplishment that I am very proud of is able to get a job. That honestly was my proudest moment, because I felt no longer like a kid, I felt I was growing up and becoming into an adult, the woman I wanted to be, which was independent, strong, responsible, and proud. This accomplishment was a big transition from being a child to a (pre) adult. This was showing a lot of people around me that I am older and soon joining the workforce. Once joining the workforce, there really is no turning back.
My high school is highly competitive and I’m grateful that I was surrounded by such wonderful peers and teachers. Completing high school, I received 12th place out of almost 450 students, with a weighted GPA of 4.244. Despite my hard course load,
