Personal Statement on Leadership Holding a position of leadership requires a careful balance between authority and comradery. Mastering this balance is not a simple formula however, and finding the appropriate recipe relies upon the type of work tasks at hand and the employee personality types involved. My leadership ideals include linked responsibilities of individuals to complete tasks within the department to instill natural motivation developed by members working in a cyclic pattern where member responsibilities complete the group tasks. In theory, one missing person would result in a missing responsibility and incomplete tasks. The very basis of this leadership style places value on assisting team members and group support for completing all tasks. To implement these changes into a group, I list the pros and cons of the previous and the new group procedures and responsibilities to easy worries and to demonstrate the value of the new group system. Goleman (2004) supports this value in combined efforts and the excessive capabilities of a group working with both individual and group responsibilities. Providing examples of leaders and well known organizations that have had success using this method would assist with strengthening group confidence in regard to the new changes (Kidder, 2003 and Goleman, 2004). To foster this model, I as a leader will meet individually with group members to check in on employee responsibilities, ability to complete tasks, attitude regarding flow of the group, etcetera. These feelings and facts are necessary for understand how each employee works and communicates with other individuals. Changes may be necessary for having certain employees working more closely and others more distant depending on personalities and qualifications. Beyond
