Why I Chose to be an Educator
There is nothing more sad than unused potential. I firmly believe that every human being in the world has something positive to add, some just never get to share it. I chose to become a teacher to help each child unlock their potential, to light a flame in them for learning, and to leave some legacy no matter how small that I cared and tried to make the world better than I found it. As a thirty- eight-year-old mother, grandmother, and wife, it is never too late to dream, start over, or to stretch your hand out to help.

When a child learns something that interest them they will never forget it. As adults, you may lose your job, your house or your car, but no one can ever take your education from you. I want to ignite that flame in each child for learning. The flame that says I want to do my best, because this work has my name on it. The fire that says, I want to learn as much as I can.
We all have something to add to the world, but many of us walk around taking selfishly from it, and not replenishing the good we take. I want to help every child that I meet, even if it is just some small impact. Through them I am leaving the world better than I found it. The children are our future and one day they will be running the country. They need to feel important and that their ideas and thoughts matter. Children may not get the love and support they need at home, but through me, their teacher, I can make them feel valued and special.
Being a teacher is the most important profession there is. Through education, all other careers are spawned. Teachers can have a positive impact on the children they teach if they care about their students. You must care and respect your students to foster a loving trusting relationship. Once you have a relationship, you can work with the student to ignite a love for learning. Through their newfound love of learning, they will discover their hidden potential and be
