Hundreds of new products are developed every year. To verify they are safe companies conduct many studies. Some studies include testing on animals. Testing on animals is a continuing problem in society. Even though many people know how bad of a problem it is they still support the companies that do this. Conducting these experiment can be a harmful or rewarding. Scientist can discover many new things that people never knew about, like new medicine or diseases, but it is not worth all the pain these animals suffer. Many acknowledge this but still research shows that testing on animals is a growing problem in the country and in the world. Testing on animals is when companies test their products on animals to make sure they are safe to go out to the public. Not only this, but conducting these researches can help scientist discover new cures and disease never yet known. These tests are rewarding to society but “the pain and suffering that experimental animals are subjects to is not worth any possible benefit to humans”(Source 1, paragraph 3). Most reasons are that companies want to test their products so they can sell them to public, there are also medical reasons like tests so scientist can visualize our body and the way it reacts to things and many more. The California Biomedical Research Association states, “Nearly every medical breakthrough in the last 100 years has resulted directly from research on animals. Animal research has also contributed to major advances in understanding and treating conditions such as breast cancer, brain injury, childhood leukaemia, cystic fibrosis, malaria, multiple sclerosis, tuberculosis, and many other, and was a instrumental in the development of pacemakers, cardiac valve substitutes, and anesthetics”(Source 2). Here we can see the main purpose of testing on animals it helps scientist make new discoveries that can help society and the
