Module 1 Challenge Tyler Ward SASM 6040 3-22-15 Introduction The purpose for the challenge is to create or revise the Mission and Philosophy Statements of the school’s Athletic Department. In the challenge, you will see the revised statements that I have produced. From there, I will explain what actions are taking place within the school to communicate the vision with the stakeholders. Establish hard work forged in preparation and continuous effort. 4. Display integrity in forms of sportsmanship, perseverance and abiding by contest rules. 5. Become good-role models for the school and community. Core Values The Richardton-Taylor Core Values are the principles that guide our educational organization and decision-making. All employees, students, parents, alumni and visitors are expected to follow and adhere to our core values. The RTPSD has identified and defined 5 core values: 1. Honesty – I will not lie, cheat, steal, or be deceitful in any way. 2. Growth – I will strive to improve my skills and knowledge and embrace change to promote lifelong learning. 3. Accountability – I will take responsibility for my words and actions, and accept the consequences both positive and negative, while performing the tasks and duties that are expected of me. 4. Teamwork – I will work with others in a unified and respectful manner to achieve common goals. 5. These can be held and read by all in the school’s student handbook under the topic titled, Athletics. The second place this information can be shared is in the school’s contest programs. The final place where all this information can be placed is on the school’s public website, if they have one. Due to society becoming digitally connected, it is easy for stakeholders and visitors to use their electronic devices and become familiar with the school’s mission and philosophy. Some other forms of digital communication that may be possible to use are Facebook and Twitter. These social networking platforms are easily accessible to all and it is not uncommon to hear that an organization or community member has posted an update or article on their page, while speaking with a stakeholder. The second strategy that can be implemented, with communication of these statements, is on or within the playing arena. This can be witnessed by hanging a banner with the school’s values or having it announced before, during and after the competition. This is a great reminder of what the expectations are not only the teams and officials, but fans and visitors as
