With the increase in technologies around social communications, athletes are able to build a “brand,” make highlights, earn bragging rights, communicate with their mentors/inspiration, and communicate with potential team members and organizations. But there is a downside to all of this opportunity. Young athletes with the mentality of invincibility tend to neglect the responsibility of filtering their social media accounts and it can negatively affect their careers.
