I first learned about Santa Clara University in my sophomore year when I attended a college seminar led by a former admissions officer of SCU. While informing students of the college admissions process, he shared many of his experiences at SCU, from student clubs to spiritual life. He spoke of the remarkable courses, professors, and programs at SCU, but he was most enthusiastic about the community of driven and innovative students. Knowing that I was a first-generation college student, he informed me of the LEAD Scholars Program, where I can connect with others that have similar backgrounds as I. In fact, this program provides an abundance of resources like academic services and leadership opportunities, which I am ecstatic to take advantage of. As I entered the school during Open House, I was immediately greeted by a crowd of enthusiastic students filled with lively smiles on their faces. I am grateful that I had the chance to briefly engage with students during an on-campus visit, as this encounter ensured me that I would find belonging in SCU’s community. Moreover, SCU boasts a versatile undergraduate education, as nearly all programs of study could undeniably be described as robust and world-class.
