The Current Reality Report/SWOT Analysis report demonstrates my ability to facilitate the design, development, implementation, communication, and evaluation of technology-infused strategic plans because it allowed me to assist my school creating a shared vision and action plan for technology integration. Using the ISTE’s Essential Conditions for successful technology integration, I created a Current Reality Report/SWOT Analysis Report using a template. This report assesses the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that my school currently faces regarding technology integration. This lack of a plan has led to ineffective instructional uses for technology integration, resulting in teachers using technology for basic skill and drill (Creighton, 2003). Therefore, in order to assist my school in creating a plan that effectively integrates technology, I identified opportunities or potential strengths that have been neglected and needed to be considered. Under the opportunities column, I made recommendations on how to strengthen each condition using research, as well as the input from stakeholders. I stated that our focus should be on designing an action plan that includes a shared vision for technology integration. In this plan, we will include on-going professional developments that adhere to the ISTE Standards. We will also train teachers on how to identify and accommodate the needs of our SES, SWD, and ELL students through technology …show more content…
I learned that by assessing a school’s plan for technology integration, we are able to see the strengths or areas that we need to utilize, as well as the weaknesses or areas that need to be addressed. These assessments can help schools to identify any threats that may prevent success, as well as identify opportunities for success by making recommendations to strengths that have been neglected. To improve the quality of the artifact or the process involved in creating the artifact, I would have involved input from my principal. According to Creighton (2003), the lack of support from school leaders regarding technology integration will defeat the purpose of the vision and the technology plan. In order for us to overcome our obstacles, it is vital that I have his input and
