Every student that enters the classroom has a unique educational experience. When teachers understand the importance of their job, children benefit the most. As professionals entrusted with the molding of young minds, teachers must facilitate social and academic growth. By providing a quality education to each student within the classroom setting, a teacher equips children with the tools necessary for success in life.
I think it is important first to establish an honest and mutually respectful rapport with students. Communication is one of the highest priorities in this interaction. Through this relationship, an environment based on trust, equality and caring can be established in the classroom. By demonstrating warmth and compassion within the learning environment, students observe that teachers love them and are empathic individuals. Students deserve an educator's passion for both content and lifelong learning. An educator must demonstrate enthusiasm and express confidence in the students' abilities to learn and be successful in order to achieve active learning. By utilizing constructivist methods of teaching within the classroom setting, students are encouraged to take an active role in their education. Students demonstrate this assuming responsibility for academic inquiry and discovery as well as by making positive choices. Academic discussions, projects, and experiments ensure student achievement and allow students and the teacher to discover individual student's preferences and strengths. Differentiated activities make the academic content more relevant to every student's life.
